SATURDAY 29 AUGUST – THURSDAY 10 SEPTEMBER 2020

DAY 1: Saturday 29 August, 2020 Stratford upon Avon, England
You will depart from London’s Heathrow airport at midday, please ensure you have allowed ample time to collect your luggage. The group will be transferred to the delightful town of Stratford Upon Avon, a market town with more than 800 years of history. It has many buildings that survive today, that would have been familiar to William Shakespeare the playwright and poet. It lies on the River Avon and is going to be our home for the next six nights. This evening the group will meet for welcome drinks and an included dinner.

DAY 2: Sunday 30 August, 2020 Stratford upon Avon, England
This morning we will have a guided walking tour of Stratford-upon-Avon. We will see Shakespeare’s birthplace, and New Place, the immortal playwright’s retirement home. After lunch Greg will commence his painting session in the delightful town of Stratford-upon-Avon.

DAY 3: Monday 31 August, 2020 Stratford upon Avon, England
This morning we travel to the village of Bourton on-the- Water. It is known for its picturesque High Street, flanked by long wide greens and the River Windrush that runs through them. The river is crossed by several low, arched stone bridges. These arched bridges are why Bourton on-the- Water is being called the “Venice of the Cotswolds”.

DAY 4: Tuesday 1 September, 2020 Stratford upon Avon, England
Today we will have a full day of painting in Stratford upon Avon. Greg will find a wonderful subject and paint a demonstration and then assist workshop members individually. A critique session will be held late in the afternoon.

DAY 5: Wednesday 2 September, 2020 Stratford upon Avon, England
Today we travel to Stow-on-the-Wold. Stow-on-the-Wold is a small, but well-known, market town set in the Cotswold Hills and near the north-east corner of the English county of Gloucestershire. Set on a hilltop, it stands beside the Roman Fosse Way at its junction with six other roads, and where a settlement has existed since the Iron Age. We will have a full day of painting here.

DAY 6: Thursday 3 September, 2020 Stratford upon Avon, England
Our final day of painting in Stratford upon Avon. Greg will find some great subjects to keep you painting all day.

DAY 7: Friday 4 September, 2020 Dartmouth, England
After breakfast, we will board our coach and travel to Dartmouth. En route we will stop at Castle Combe, which has been called ‘The Prettiest Village in England’. It is renowned for its attractiveness and tranquillity and for fine buildings including the medieval church. We will then continue our journey to Dartmouth, the Jewel of the South Hams. Ancient narrow streets house boutique shops, art galleries & delicatessens. A cobbled market place features colourful stalls supplying fresh local produce.

DAY 8: Saturday 5 September, 2020 Dartmouth, England
This morning we will travel to Plymouth. Plymouth is situated between the mouths of the rivers Plym to the east and Tamar to the west, where they join Plymouth Sound. There are many wonderful subjects to paint in this beautiful area of the south coast of Devon.

DAY 9: Sunday 6 September, 2020 Dartmouth, England
A full day of painting in Dartmouth. Greg will find a great subject in Dartmouth, paint a demonstration and then assist workshop members individually.

DAY 10: Monday 7 September, 2020 Dartmouth, England
This morning we travel to Polperro for a day of painting. Polperro is a lovely village and fishing harbour on the south-east Cornwall coast. Greg will choose a wonderful subject to paint before providing individual help to workshop members.

DAY 11: Tuesday 8 September, 2020 Dartmouth, England
After breakfast, we will travel to Mevagissey for a day of painting. Mevagissey is a fishing port nestled in a small valley and faces east to Mevagissey Bay. The inner and outer harbours are busy with a mixture of pleasure vessels and working fishing boats. Greg will find some wonderful subjects for you to paint.

DAY 12: Wednesday 9 September, 2020 Dartmouth, England
A full day of painting and sightseeing in Dartmouth. There will be a final critique session, followed by farewell drinks and an included dinner to celebrate our time in England.

DAY 13: Thursday 10 September, 2020 Departure
This morning we say farewell to Dartmouth and we head to London Heathrow to meet flights departing Heathrow after 5.00pm.
