MONDAY 23 SEPTEMBER, 2019 – SUNDAY 6 OCTOBER, 2019

DAY 1: Monday 23 September, 2019 Venice, Italy
Workshop members will be met at Venice Marco Polo Airport at 2.30pm and transferred by water taxi to the workshop hotel in spectacular Venice. Venice with its historic attractions and gorgeous canals will be a delight to paint. Tonight the group will meet for welcome drinks and an included dinner.

DAY 2: Tuesday 24 September, 2019 Venice, Italy
This morning a local guide will take you on a walking tour of the sights of Venice. We will see St Mark’s Cathedral and its square, the Grand Canal, the Doges Palace and the busy waterfront. Following the tour, David will begin painting with a demonstration and then move amongst the group helping with individual paintings.

DAY 3: Wednesday 25 September, 2019 Venice, Italy
Today we say farewell to Venice and travel on to Koper by private coach. Koper’s history has been well-preserved in its city centre, which boasts medieval squares, a 15th century Venetian palace, Slovenia’s largest cathedral.

DAY 4: Thursday 26 September, 2019 Koper, Slovenia
Today we say farewell to Venice and travel on to Koper by private coach. The town of Kotor, was founded by the ancient Romans in 168BC and conquered by the Venetians in the 15th century. The port of Kotor was built by the Republic of Venice and is surrounded by impressive city walls and many attractive Venetian buildings and will provide many painting subjects.

DAY 5: Friday 27 September, 2019 Koper, Slovenia
We enjoy a morning sightseeing tour to explore this interesting city with sights to include the Clock Tower, Main Gate, Arms and Flour Squares, Maritime Museum, Green Market and Napoleon’s Theatre. In the afternoon David will find a wonderful location for your painting session.

DAY 6: Saturday 28 September, 2019 Koper, Slovenia
Today we will travel to Bled. Bled is an Alpine town which represents one of the oldest and most beautiful tourist destinations in Slovenia. Its main attraction is the lake which surrounds Bled Island. The island has several buildings, the main one being the Gothic church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. There will be time for photographing and sketching before we return to Koper.

DAY 7: Sunday 29 September, 2019 Split, Croatia
This morning we travel along the spectacular Croatia coast to Split. The old town of Split is full of charm, dominated by the Emperor Diocletians vast Roman palace, one of the largest and best preserved buildings remaining from the Roman world. The classical composition of Split has been a source of inspiration to artists and architects throughout the world. With views over the Adriatic Sea and backdrop of rugged mountains, the city will provide spectacular painting opportunities.

DAY 8: Monday 30 September, 2019 Split, Croatia
This morning we will have a sightseeing tour of Split. We will visit the Roman Palace and its many highlights including the Golden Gate. The afternoon will be spent painting in Split.

DAY 9: Tuesday 1 October, 2019 Split, Croatia
Today David will take the group to a scenic location in Split and demonstrate and then spend time moving amongst the group members offering individual assistance.

DAY 10: Wednesday 2 October, 2019 Dubrovnik, Croatia
Today we travel to Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik is situated on a promontory surrounded by the beautiful waters of the Adriatic. It is renowned for its monuments, its magnificent walls and welcoming atmosphere. Dinner will be included each night during our stay in Dubrovnik.

DAY 11: Thursday 3 October, 2019 Dubrovnik, Croatia
This morning we will join a local guide for a walking tour through Dubrovnik. We will see the impressive fort of St John and the Sponza Palace, which was built in the 14th century as the mint for the city. After lunch David will start the painting program with his first demonstration in a good location. Then it will be your turn to paint as David moves among the group helping each person with their work.

DAY 12: Friday 4 October, 2019 Dubrovnik, Croatia
A full day of painting and sightseeing in Dubrovnik.

DAY 13: Saturday 5 October, 2019 Dubrovnik, Croatia
A full day of painting and sightseeing in Dubrovnik. This afternoon we will have our final critique session followed by an included dinner to celebrate our time in Venice, Koper and Croatia.

DAY 14: Sunday 6 October, 2019 Departure
This morning we will say farewell to Dubrovnik and travel to Dubrovnik airport to meet midday flights.
